It has been a scary week. Every newscast brings more discouraging news about the coronavirus, the stock market has tumbled somewhere south of Antarctica, and someone bought all the toilet paper at Walmart. What’s next?
The Bible gives us a specific promise for days like this:
2 Timothy 1:7 (HCSB) For God has not given us a spirit of fearfulness, but one of power, love, and sound judgment.
This was certainly the case for the Corinthian church. They had plenty to fear, yet Paul begins his letter to them with a simple word: Be Thankful. This week we will see that, though we may not be thankful for every circumstance, in Christ we can always be thankful in every circumstance (1 Corinthians 1:4-6).
See you Sunday!
