Whenever my family took trips, we always stopped at the same place: Stuckey’s. These were one of the original roadside convenience store chains concentrated mainly in the Southeast, Southwest, and Midwest, although they spread out across the country for a time. At its peak, there were 350 locations selling their famous pecan log rolls. We stopped there for the clean restrooms, gas and novelty section, but also for a chance to stretch our legs after traveling the interstate all day.
We all need rest, and not just from highway traffic. God built rest into the very fabric of creation. This Sunday, we will see how important both physical and spiritual rest are to us all (Genesis 2:1-3).
See you Sunday!
