NHBC Stepping Out is National Heights on mission in our community.  You can participate as an individual, couple, family, or group, and participate in as many ministries as you would like. Ephesians 2:10 tells us ‘we are created to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do’! Our prayer is that when NHBC members are placed in positions of service throughout the community, people will see the face of Jesus, and God will be glorified. Join in –there’s something for everyone! Our community will be blessed, and you will as well, as we put into the action the love we talk about. What a joy to be able to participate together!

Opportunities to Serve:

1) The NHBC Blessing Box is now up and running. The box is located near the Norton entrance to the church parking lot. Items included are non-perishable food items, warm hats, gloves and scarves, paper goods, a notebook for prayer requests, and Bibles, all free for the taking to our community. Please pray as God continues to touch others through this ministry.

UPDATE: The Blessing Box Ministry now has two boxes, one on the church property by the Norton entrance and one at the West Kearney McDonald’s.

2) Harmony House Volunteer Opportunities:

They would love to have your help assisting kitchen staff with meal preparation, serving, and cleaning. They can also use volunteers who will provide and serve meals on a monthly or quarterly basis on a group or individual basis.

Handy with a hammer and nails? Work alongside their maintenance man and assist with building repairs, landscaping and other maintenance projects.

If you have a friendly voice and office work is your thing, they’d love your help in their administrative office. This involves answering the phones, general office work and other clerical tasks.

Helping with general cleaning the shelter and their administrative offices might be your gig!

Is home organization your thing? If so, they would love your help in the donations and Boutique areas. Volunteers may assist in receiving, sorting, and stocking incoming donations. In the Boutique you will work one-on-one with residents who are shopping for outfits, accessories, and makeup.
