In school, we learned to use mnemonic devices. These were tools to help us remember the facts we were supposed to know for our exams – at least I think I remember that’s what they were. I guess I needed a mnemonic device to remember what a mnemonic device is. Probably the best known mnemonic device is Roy G. Biv, designed to help science students remember the colors of the rainbow (Roy G. Biv contains the first letters of the colors in order: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet).
The first four commandments in the Ten Commandments can be remembered with two words: Remember God. This Sunday, we will discover how keeping those commands (Exodus 20:1-11) will help us do exactly that.
See you Sunday!
