There are some things we usually don’t want to know. As the old saying goes, “It’s best not to know how the sausage is made.” If you have ever witnessed sausage being made, you know why. It’s best simply not to know.
However, for many things, the more you know, the more you appreciate. I knew about the Grand Canyon for years. I had seen numerous photos of the location. But standing at the edge of the Canyon, listening to the park ranger’s explanation, and watching the sunset over the canyon wall, I gained a new appreciation of one of the great sights in creation. The more I learned, the more I appreciated what I saw.
The psalmist discovered the same thing about God’s Word, with an added dimension: the more he knew the more he wanted to worship God. This week we will discover how God’s Word can have the same effect on us (Psalm 119:7-8).
See you Sunday!
