Everyone likes a good joke, but most people don’t like to hear a joke they have already heard. We know that, so the instant we hear a new joke, we want to be the first one to tell it to our friends and family. With the internet, that’s becoming harder to do. Usually by the time I tell my family a joke, it’s already been tweeted 2 million times, illustrated on Instagram, and emailed around the world. If I started with “stop me if you’ve heard this one,” I would never be able to tell another joke.
The shepherds were the first to share something far more significant than a good laugh. This week we follow their fascinating journey from the field to the manger to the neighborhood with an extraordinary message: the Savior has come! (Luke 2:8-18)
See you Sunday!
